A teenager is fighting for his life after a double stabbing in south London.
Scotland Yard said a 17-year-old was discharged from hospital but a 16-year-old remains in a critical condition after the attack by suspects on mopeds.
The pair were knifed in Mountearl Gardens, Streatham, at about 5.30pm on December 30, police said.
Both were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service with stab wounds to their torsos.
Police today launched an appeal for witnesses and information about the attack.
A spokesman for the Met said: “At this early stage detectives believe that the victims sustained their injuries after two mopeds each with a rider and pillion passenger approached them.
“The pillion passengers then attacked the victims before fleeing on the waiting mopeds, heading in the direction of Mount Nod Road. Neither of the pillion passengers is believed to have worn a helmet.”
There have been no arrests.
A total of 15 teenagers were stabbed to death in London last year – the highest level in seven years.
In February last year a 15-year-old boy survived after being stabbed 12 times in the chest, legs and arms in Mountearl Gardens.
