Bomb squad deployed to Peterborough Prison following reports of an 'explosive device'

Police officers are currently at Peterborough Prison dealing with an ongoing incident following reports of an "explosive device".

An RAF bomb disposal van can be seen at the prison and men in military clothing have also been spotted.

HMP Peterborough is a local category B prison which is situated on the former site of the Baker Perkins engineering works.The prison is operated by Sodexo Justice Services.

Opening in March 2005, it is the country's only dual purpose-built prison for men and women, who are kept separate at all times. The prison also has a 12 place Mother and Baby Unit.
