A woman who claims Coronation Street actor William Roache indecently assaulted her as a teenager today admitted getting “mixed up” over a lift home from Granada Studios.
Miss D had told Preston crown court she had been given the lift by Roache in his Rolls-Royce. But under cross-examination by Louise Blackwell, QC, she said she had been taken home by another cast member, Neville Buswell, in his “little blue sports car”.
Miss D recalled telling a police officer how at the age of 14 she and her younger sister had sat outside the studios in Manchester 100 times, hoping for autographs. But under cross-examination she acknowledged it was only 20 times.
Roache, 81, of Wilmslow, Cheshire, denies twice raping one teenager and carrying out five indecent assaults on four others. The trial continues.
