The life of a music star can be pretty hard work, so sometimes it's important to take a break.

Smug marrieds Beyoncé and Jay-Z embraced the opportunity for some chill out time together while on holiday in the Caribbean.

The pop power couple posed for pictures as they took a romantic walk along a beach in the Dominican Republic.

The photographs were later posted on Beyoncé's Tumblr page. The Drunk in Love Singer, 32, teamed bright pink trousers with a green bikini top, while her 44-year-old husband donned a simple black t-shirt with white shorts.

In one snap Beyoncé sits on a moped as though she is about to start the engine and speed away.

Last month the pair took their two-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, to the White House in Washington to celebrate First Lady Michelle Obama's 50th birthday party.
