World Cup fever? Georgia May Jagger heads to Wembley to model the season’s most athletic styles

Who better to get us in the mood for a certain football tournament than English rose and all-round good sport Georgia May Jagger?

Outside the Green Man in Wembley, football fans — Manchester United fans, since you ask — are assembling to watch their team play in the glorious sunshine at the stadium a short walk down the road.

Inside, in the back room, Georgia May Jagger is stepping out of our pre-fall favourites and pulling on an England shirt, in early celebration of England’s inevitable World Cup triumph.

Yeah right, right? But actually, who would capture the scene better? And now for some pre-match talk...

Favourite football team?

Arsenal. Although I do have to say that — for my dad and my brother.

Who would be the guests at your dream dinner table?

How many people am I allowed? Okay, so I’d have River Phoenix, Johnny Cash, Mae West, Joan Jett and Bob Marley.

Who did you vote for at the last election?

Do we have to talk politics?

Most extravagant fashion purchase?

My plastic Chanel see-through handbag. I love it.

House of Holland scarf: available at Selfridges later this year (houseofholland.co.uk), Miu Miu cardigan £955 (miumiu.com), Monica Vinader earrings £150 (monicavinader.com), Hermès shirt £2,130 (uk.hermes.com)

Tell us a secret...

But then it wouldn’t be a secret, would it?

Who is your favourite royal?

The Queen. Of course.

The high point of your career so far?

Appearing at the Olympic closing ceremony.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Wine! And Chanel handbags...

What would be the soundtrack to your life?

Something by James Brown. When my dad made that movie [Get On Up] we were just listening and watching James Brown over and over again, for a whole year. If I’m at work and feeling tired it’s him I put on, or Lil’ Kim. Always gets me going...

Who are your besties?

Brett, Charlotte, Cara Delevingne and Suki Waterhouse.

What’s the naughtiest thing you have got up to with them recently?

We went to my friend Scarlett’s gig last night — we were up till pretty early this morning. We were playing sardines. Amazing how 20 people managed to hide in one room.

Is your mother your role model?

Yes; she raised me and she’s so positive. She is very much ‘glass-half-full’. She loves reading poetry, doing I Ching — all these weird things that make her special. She likes everybody.

Which Spice Girl would you have been?

Well, obviously I wanted to be Geri. Everyone wanted to be Geri.

Chanel jacket, £4,610 (020 7493 5040)

Funniest thing you’ve read about yourself?

That I talk about myself in the third person. ‘Jagger doesn’t like that.’ As if!

London or LA?

London. Always. I’m living in LA at the moment. But London is my home. I like it cold and damp!

As popularity of social media increases, how do you protect yourself?

I don’t really worry about me being bullied — most of the time it’s just trolls. But I feel for the people who are feeling isolated at home; feeling depressed and not having more positive things going on in their lives. I feel worried for young girls who strive to have this ‘look’, getting plastic surgery. We need to support each other more and care more about what’s on the inside rather than how many followers we have and being so absorbed in our phones. When I started modelling, Insta didn’t exist, and now it affects everyone’s lives. In such a short space of time. My little brother is so not into it. I think that there will be a backlash from the younger generation.

What was your favourite sport at school?

Not netball. It’s like basketball, except you stand still. Football was my favourite. Although I wasn’t crazy about sport. It’s only in the last year that I’ve started to exercise.

Many people don’t know this about you, but...

I’m patient. Sometimes in this job you need endless patience. I’m also pretty nerdy. I loved watching vampire movies when I was growing up. I was a Goth, but without the hairstyle...

If you could have invented one item of clothing, what would it have been?

Mary Janes. Very underrated shoes.
