If you needed another reason to jet off to sun-soaked LA as soon as travel gets the green light, then British-based Maybourne Hotel Group has given us a great one.

The group, formerly known as the Savoy Group, which owns iconic London hotels The Connaught, The Berkeley and Claridge’s, has announced it's opening its first international outpost: The Maybourne Beverly Hills in LA

Announced in an Instagram post on its new dedicated page, @themaybournebh said: “The Maybourne Hotel Group, which includes hopefully some familiar names, Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley. And while we will absolutely embrace the legendary service standards of these grande dames, we will rightfully take our place as the younger, more free spirited Californian cousin.”

Paula Fitzherbert, Group Director of Communications for The Maybourne Hotel Group, said in an Instagram post on Thursday: “While we have been in London lockdown mode we have also managed to have one foot firmly in Beverly Hills, and today announce our first hotel outside London with the @themaybournebh joining our little hotel family. Whilst the doors are still firmly closed we have already started California dreaming.”

Formerly the Montage Beverly Hills, the 201-room hotel sits in the heart of LA’s prestigious ‘Golden Triangle’, and is perfectly placed to explore the famed Rodeo Drive.

Its rooms come in standard King-size to suites and it boasts five food and drink offerings, from its flagship restaurant, to its rooftop restaurant, cellar cigar bar and cafe and dedicated wine and cocktail bar.

If the spa mirrors any of the others in the group, then it’s sure to be world-class - its organic treatments use only the best and most ecologically-responsible, vegan skincare... very LA.

Of course, no LA hotel is complete without a pool and The Maybourne’s is ideally situated on the hotel’s rooftop. Open til 10pm daily for hotel guests and Monday to Thursday for spa guests, its private cabanas will be the place to be on the weekends.

While work on the hotel is currently suspended due to the global pandemic and the opening date it yet to be announced, when it does open, we’ll be on the first plane out.
