Nolinski, Paris – hotel review

With the Louvre and the Seine just a five-minute walk away, the Nolinski hotel in Paris combines elegance with convenience
1/15

Location is one of the most important factors to consider when deciding where to stay on a city break – and nowhere is better located in Paris than Nolinski.

Just a five-minute walk from the Seine, beyond the Louvre, where you can see the tip of the Eiffel Tower peaking above the rooftops, Nolinski is truly in prime position.

Yet inside is what keeps guests coming back again and again, with their ever-friendly staff, elegant décor and sumptuous basement spa with an extensive treatment menu.

Below, find out why Nolinski should be your home away from home the next time you’re across the Channel.

Nolinski

Where is it?

A short stroll away from the Louvre and the River Seine, Nolinski is in an ideal position for a spot of Parisian sightseeing. The Opéra Garnier is at the end of the road and you can see the top of Notre-Dame from some of the rooms on higher levels. A short walk across the river will get you to the Musee D’Orsay, and a walk down it will land you at the base of the Eiffel Tower.

While all the major sights are within walking distance, there is also a metro station straight outside Nolinski’s front door, which can take you across the river to a hot chocolate in Angelina (the best in Paris) or a famous macaron from Carl Marletti.

Style

Nolinski’s façade adheres to traditional Parisian architecture, with iron-gated balconies overflowing with flowers. Fairy lights strung out front welcome you on arrival, and touches of marble, gold and green-blue hues are the first thing you notice when you step through the doors.

The reception is located just on the left and you are greeted by a large golden door behind which is the chic Réjane brasserie. The minimalist reception is made from Carrara marble, designed by decorator Jean Louis Deniot. Along the hallway you’ll find an expansive, spiralling staircase next to the Grand Salon with an azure grand piano and bronze fireplace, and access to the lifts that will take you to your room.

The rooms and suites at Nolinski are distributed over six floors, each with their own charm and distinctive style. The green-blue hues flow from reception upstairs and are accompanied by green, raspberry and yellow pops of colours, enhancing the base colours and waxed concrete floors. Dimmed lamps, custom furniture, lacquered wardrobes and neoclassical wood panelling add the finishing touches to your dreamy abode.

Food & Drink

Parisians don’t do food by halves and Nolinski’s Réjane brasserie delivers a fine example of it. Here, guests enjoy their signature Réjane breakfasts – a bowl of pastries and breads, selection of cured meats and cheeses, fruit salad and preserves.

Up the hall, behind heavy tweed curtains, you’ll find the Grand Salon – a cosy Parisian which serves some of the city's best cocktails. Besides drinking, the boudoir is perfect for an afternoon tea break, private lunch and a place to unwind before visiting the downstairs spa.

Rej, located next door to the hotel, is an offshoot of Nolinski and is a delicatessen offering French artisanal treats alongside fresh sandwiches and other baked goods – stop here before you head off sightseeing.

Which room?

Nolinski

Any room in Nolinski is a great choice, but if you want something special we recommend one of their junior suites. With custom-made furniture and fine works of art, these rooms feature large shutter windows, marble-fitted bathrooms with deep tubs and rainfall showers and a huge bed on which to rest after a long day taking in the sights.
