A London lawyer has set up a retreat for city-dwellers in need of a break from the bricks and mortar of the capital.

The cluster of luxury tents at the end of the Jubilee line, called Home Farm Glamping, was set up by Jessica Gibbs in a bid to give Londoners somewhere relaxing that is easy to reach.

The site at her family's farm in the Hertfordshire countryside is in the middle of a field surrounded by sunflowers near a lake just 40 minutes from central London.

Jessica said: "It really is the perfect location for corporate away days and busy Londoners who want to escape overnight or for a weekend of comfort and luxury."

"We only opened two months ago and already we are attracting corporate guests and recently hosted an event with explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes and his party."

Tents at the site are carpeted and tastefully decorated, with soft white furnishings and comfortable beds, and have large wooden decking areas outside set with tables and chairs.

The site currently has three large yurts and nine bell tents.

They are now taking bookings for 2016. Contact Home Farm Glamping Jess Gibbs jess@homefarmglamping.com or visit homefarmglamping.com

'My glamping glee'

It is hard to believe that escaping to the countryside from London would be quite this easy.

After just a half an hour ride on the Jubilee line to Stanmore and a short hop in a taxi, I left the chaos of central London behind."

The whole glamping experience was surprisingly easy - not only was the journey painless, but the tents come fully furnished, with bedding, towels, crockery and cutlery, and even wine glasses.

The farm is surrounded by rolling fields and tranquil woodland.

Jessica even organised for a food order to be waiting for us when we arrived, and our barbecue box from Turner & George was outstanding - full of plenty of highest quality meat.

While there, we took part in a GPS challenge 'race' created by Wildgoose Events, which was a great way to explore the surrounding countryside before settling in by a campfire back at our tent for a nice gin and tonic or two. An easy getaway from crowded central London.
