London New Year’s Eve hotels 2018: the best places to stay in the capital on NYE

If you're planning a last minute trip to the capital to ring in the new year, London hotels have some rather luxurious packages for you.

Ace Hotel – from £206

New Year’s Eve at Ace Hotel kicks off with a dinner created by executive chef Matthew Marshall, with two sittings at 7pm and 8pm, held in the 100 Room and the Griffin and Empire Room respectively. Guests will be treated to a four course, seasonal menu served on communal, long tables. Following dinner everyone will be ushered to the rooftop, where DJs will play while they enjoy the views of the midnight fireworks.

The hotel has also created a private package specifically for those wanting to spend the night with friends. Guests will enjoy dinner in Ace Hotel London’s Bowers Private Dining Room, entry to the after party, as well as a private Ace Hotel London suite for the whole evening and a post-party breakfast at Hoi Polloi the next day.

Prices start from £206.25 per person.

Novotel London Canary Wharf & Bokan – from £389

Novotel London Canary Wharf is a 39-storey hotel featuring Bokan restaurant, bar and roof terrace, from where guests will be able to enjoy views of the city on NYE.

Rooms are currently priced from £389 (including breakfast). Bokan 37 restaurant has a set menu for £99 per person, or if you're feeling flush, the restaurant is also offering a premium NYE package, which includes a guaranteed view of the fireworks with a window seat on the 38th floor, unlimited house spirits and mixers, cocktails, prosecco, wine, beers and a bowl food buffet served from 10pm until midnight.

Hotel Indigo, 1 Leicester Square – from £425

Nestled in the heart of the West End, Hotel Indigo – 1 Leicester Square is throwing a NYE party at its ninth floor rooftop bar, the only roof terrace on the square. Guests will enjoy a night of music, while feasting on small sharing plates, canapés, sweets and bottomless house drinks.

Room rates start from £200 per night and tickets for the party from £225 per person. For bigger groups, the venue has created a bespoke package priced at £2,200 for a table of eight people.

The hotel is offering a Luxury New Year’s Eve Getaway package which includes overnight accommodation with city views, bubbles on arrival, breakfast, late check-out and a special tasting menu experience at the Peninsula Restaurant.

Restaurant and bar packages start from £75 per person, with options including Champagne, canapés and live music in the Eighteen Sky Bar, to tasting menu experiences at the Peninsula Restaurant. Alternatively, guests can choose to spend the night in the hotel’s Clipper Bar, with live music before the hotel’s fireworks display at midnight.

Price is £579 with the option to add the £95 per person to have the special tasting menu experience at the Peninsula Restaurant.

Located in Kensington, a sumptuous dinner will be served in Blakes restaurant, featuring a menu created by head chefs Peter Del Campo and Mariano Russo, before guests head down to Blakes Below for a Moulin Rouge-themed party.

The New Year’s Eve package includes a two-night stay – so you won't have to travel home on a hangover – ;with breakfast, priced from £599 per room per night.

The LaLiT London's New Year’s Eve party will involve burlesque from Claudia Contortionist and a formal five-course dinner. Expect festive fizz on arrival, before dining on oysters with cucumber and gin foam; tandoori monkfish with coriander and coconut chutney; and Sula spiced roast saddle of red deer with yoghurt sauce. As the clock strikes midnight, DJ Carly Foxx will take to the decks while you dance into the early hours. Fix sore heads on New Year's Day with the à la carte brunch in Baluchi.

The Ned – from £750

Private members club The Ned is hosting a big party on the ground floor, with free-flowing drinks, including beer, wine, fizz and cocktails, an all-you-can-eat feasting menu and entertainment from The Cuban Brothers and Guilty Pleasures, among others. After midnight DJ sets will see guests through to the early hours.

Tickets cost £250 per person and rooms start from £500.

The Dorchester – from £905

Enjoy free-flowing Champagne in The Penthouse & Pavilion with live entertainment, canapés and drinks until midnight. Then as the clock chimes, toast with a glass of Krug champagne on the balcony and treat yourself to The Dorchester’s tempting dessert buffet. The party continues into the small hours with dancing at The Promenade as the Mandy Meadows quartet perform lively swing and vintage classics.

Entrance to the New Years celebrations is £395 per person, while rooms start from £510 based on a two person stay (with breakfast). If you're feeling really fancy, why not couple this with dinner at The Grill before the party, which is offering a seven-course menu with glass of Champagne for £230 per head.

Royal Lancaster London – from £999

The Royal Lancaster on the edge of Hyde Park, a stone’s throw from Winter Wonderland, has just undergone an £85 million renovation. The 18-storey hotel also boasts some great views of central London, perfect for watching the New Year’s Eve fireworks.

Enjoy a stay in either a newly-designed Studio Suite from £999, or Park Suite from £1,699. Champagne, canapés, and a five- or three- course meal at the hotel's restaurant Nipa is thrown in, too.

Sea Containers’ rooftop lounge, Rumpus Room, located on the twelfth floor of the South Bank hotel, is a great place to view London’s biggest NYE fireworks display.

Mondrian London's NYE package includes a Champagne reception followed by an open bar which lasts all evening, DJ sets and live music.

For two tickets to the Rumpus Room party and an overnight stay (with breakfast the next morning) the price is £1,410, based on two sharing a superior room.
