Since Instagram launched nearly a decade ago – and changed the way we share photos forever - it has been one of the driving forces of travel trends.
Everyone wants to go to the cool place they saw that person on Instagram go to, which is why travel influencers are some of the most-followed people, bar celebrities, on the social media site.
Luckily, you too can stay in some highly ‘grammable locales, as Airbnb has just released its second annual list of the most-liked images on its Instagram account for 2018.
Posting images taken by Airbnb users, the most-liked picture was of LUC 22 Boutique Alpine Retreat in Queenstown, New Zealand. With 110,000 likes, the image shows a bath tub with stunning mountain and lake views – the ideal place for a long, dreamy soak.
Lazzarella Room in Old Mill in Italy’s Amalfi Coast took the second spot with a lush view over a forest valley, and Willow Treehouse near Woodstock in the state of New York came in third with a secluded and romantic treehouse in a woodland setting.
Other Airbnbs in the top 10 included a riad in Morocco, a cabin in Joshua Tree National Park in the US and a boat house in Australia.
