The Crush: Christian Lacroix homewear

Ever since we stayed in Christian Lacroix’s tiny boutique hotel, Le Petit Moulin, on rue du Poitou in Paris, we’ve been lusting after the fashion designer’s interior décor, which somehow manages to be joyfully flamboyant, yet chic and sophisticated (Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen step away from the fuchsia fleur-de-lys and take note).

So imagine our excitement when we discovered that Designer’s Guild stocks Lacroix homewear, so we can bedeck our own interiors with Petit Moulin-inspired tromp l’oeils and graphic collage prints.

After the success of last year’s collection, Lacroix is back at Designer’s Guild this month with a new range of bed linen, cushions, wallpaper and rugs featuring lighter, brighter prints and colours that will add an instant hit of ooh la la to your living room.

But what we love most about splashing out £1,200 on a Paseo Ciel velvet rug is that when someone asks, ‘Where did you get that?’ we can channel Edina Monsoon and declare ‘It’s Lacroix, sweetie.’ As if the range wasn’t absolutely fabulous enough already.
