If the idea of seeking a stylish restaurant at the touch of a button appeals, download CityHawk.

The new app finds tables in rated and recommended restaurants within a two-mile radius of your destination, checking real-time availability.

This enables venues to create instant deals and customers to discover hidden gems with a service individually tailored to each user.

Using smart technology, habits are recorded and remembered so dining choices get more personal every time you book.

Set up by Aaron Ross and Laurence Carver, investors include TopTable founder Karen Hanton and TopTable investor Mark Ferguson, a businessman and son of Sir Alex Ferguson.

There is an abundance of options on offer but here are three restaurants worth exploring first:

Hardy's Brasserie and Wine Bar, Marylebone

The look: French fancy

The details: A family-run neighbourhood favourite with a friendly atmosphere and delicious food. Choose between the intimate dining room with white linen or the informal candle-lit brasserie. Sam Hughes, who was previously head chef under Raymond Blanc and at the celebrated Sir Charles Napier in Oxfordshire, cooks hearty food with an indulgent home-made appeal. A charming spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Mele e Pere, Soho

The look: Retro Italy

The details: Former Wild Honey chefs Andrea and Peter's dream of opening a Trattoria reminiscent of the venues of northern Italy has sprung to life in Soho. They cook a seasonal and daily-changing menu with British produce and Italian ingredients. All of the bread, pasta, desserts and ice-creams are made on site and the Italian wine list celebrates independent and biodynamic producers.

The Parlour, Canary Wharf

The look: Secret garden in the City

The details: An all-day bar with style, substance and seasonal food. A secret garden-inspired lounge with timber panelling is a must for cocktail lovers. Industrial design fused with bursts of colour brings the outdoors indoors. Music and a late license until the early hours on Thursdays and Fridays make the parlour the ideal place for a post-work party.
