GOLD MEDAL: The Brewin Dolphin Garden

Designed by: Darren Hawkes

This unique garden features more than 40,000 pieces of hand-cut slate that combine to form the surface of various suspended platforms, which hover above ferns and other woodland edge plants. It's inspired by prehistoric dolmens and quoits as well as more modern architecture, making reference to renowned sculptures such as Richard Serra.

GOLD MEDAL: The Homebase Garden – Urban Retreat

Designed by: Adam Frost

Adam Frost adds another Gold Medal win to last year's award for his Time To Reflect design, also for Homebase. Designed to inspire those that live in a town or city, or share a communal garden, this garden is inspired by the world of modernist architect Marcel Breuer. It uses mainly concrete, corten steel and cedar to imagine the urban landscape.

GOLD MEDAL: The Morgan Stanley Healthy Cities Garden

Designed by: Chris Beardshaw

Morgan Stanley makes its Chelsea debut to mark its Healthy Cities initiative. Designer Chris Beardshaw has considered what it is that makes a city healthy, and therefore what makes a healthy community - the geometry of the paths and hedges symbolise the physical infrastructure of a community, while colourful plants denote the diversity, as well as cooperation, of its inhabitants. After the show, this garden will be transferred to a new community project in east London.
