Our resident style guru on the ultimate work bag and Rayne's Selfridges relaunch
Orsolya Szabo4 October 2013

My work bag feels frumpy. Can you suggest a sexier alternative that still means business?

Of course your work bag feels frumpy; like most women’s handbags, it’s turned into a colossal mobile housing unit for anything that could possibly be described as necessary. If you’re not prepared to sacrifice space, pull the wool over everyone’s eyes with a bag that’s so extraordinarily chic no one will ever know you’re hiding a petrified granola bar in the bottom. This Alexander McQueen may be a bit pricey (sorry) but illustrates my point perfectly.

Rayne Relaunch at Selfridges

As far as British heritage labels go, Rayne was once queen bee, selling its shoes to everyone from Elizabeth Taylor to Princess Diana. Then it all came to an end. Roll on 20 years and there’s a very exciting relaunch — with Laurence Dacade designing and a global exclusive at Selfridges. I’m saving up for the pale blue booties.

From £400, at Selfridges Shoe Galleries, 400 Oxford Street, W1 (selfridges.com)
