Powershift coming to Focus ST diesel

Ford will add its six-speed dual-clutch auto early next year
Ford Focus ST diesel: the dual-clutch box will be offered as an option over the standard six-speed manual unit

Ford is to start offering its latest six-speed Powershift auto in the Focus ST diesel.

Starting in the first quarter of 2016, the dual-clutch box will be offered as an option over the standard six-speed manual unit.

Ford is yet to reveal the new model’s vital stats, but in manual form the ST diesel posts a 0-62 figure of 8.1 seconds and returns 67.3mpg.

Prices haven’t been announced either – however an educated guess would suggest £1250, as that’s the premium the Powershift box attracts elsewhere in the Focus range.
