Londoners’ best chance to see all the latest motorcycles, motorcycle stars and accessories — with exciting live action thrown into the mix — comes up this weekend, at the ExCeL Centre in Docklands.

The 2017 Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show, running February 17-19, is gearing up to welcome the latest models from leading manufacturers, with the charge led by British manufacturer Triumph and its UK debut of the exciting new Street Triple range.

A total of 22 leading manufacturers are heading to the capital, showcasing the best in new metal, including Ducati’s 215bhp Superleggera, Honda’s latest Superbike, the CBR1000RR, and the all-new Yamaha YZF-R6.

BMW Motorrad will be showing off its R nineT Racer and R nineT Urban G/S, joined by the raw R nineT Pure, all offering a distinct look and feel.

BMW’s new K 1600 GT and LE models will be there, as will upgrades and technical refinements to the S 1000 range. The ground-breaking BMW C Evolution electric scooter range — now an even more attractive prospect thanks to a £1,500 Government grant — will also be on show in 2017 spec.

Other major draws include Brough Superior, Ducati, Energica, Harley-Davidson, Herald, Hesketh, Honda, Indian, Kawasaki, KTM, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio, Royal Enfield, Suzuki, Vespa and Yamaha. Norton brings its stunning V4RR and V4SS Superbikes.

The Triumph stand will feature the full 2017 Street Triple line-up, including the S, R and RS models, each of which has its own unique level of power, performance, technology and suspension. Triumph will stage a Q&A session to explain what makes the 2017 Street Triple the “most explosive, agile and intuitive performance street motorcycle” it has ever built.

“The first Street Triple in 2007 set the benchmark,” said Triumph Motorcycles’ UK & Ireland marketing manager, Martin Hough. “Light, fast, fun, agile and stylish, it was a game-changer and immediately popular. We look forward to seeing what the public think of our latest model.”

The organisers promise plenty of live action, racing stars and a wide range of activities to ensure that the three-day event isn’t only for hardcore bikers but for their families, too, with children under 15 entering free of charge.

The live action Slide show returns, as Isle of Man TT legend John McGuinness goes head-to-head with former World Superbike champions Neil Hodgson and Troy Corser, fan favourite Chris Walker and Australian speedway stars Mark Lemon and Kevin Doolan.

The show exhibits a rare collection of Barry Sheene memorabilia and machines, including his 1976 and 1977 title-winning Suzukis, as well as playing host to a number of MCE British Superbike Championship riders and team unveilings.

Grand Prix fans are in for a treat as three Ducati MotoGP Desmosedicis, used by Loris Capirossi, Carlos Checa and Casey Stoner, will be on display throughout the event. Historic vehicle specialist Coys will put a collection of rare motorcycles and memorabilia under the hammer, while the David Silver Museum is bringing a number of rare Hondas to display.

Also returning for 2017 is the popular Custom Bike Show, with builders from across Europe coming together to compete for a prize. The Harley-Davidson “Battle of the Kings III” will be heading to the show, as judges choose the UK winner, who will compete in the grand final in November.

New for 2017 is the paddock pass, giving ticket holders exclusive access to the Michelin-sponsored Slide Live Action Arena, a private bar area and tiered seating. A paddock pass is your best opportunity to get your favourite rider’s autograph and enjoy Slide, while having the best view in the house. Paddock Passes cost £40 and include general show admission.

“This show will be the biggest we’ve ever had,” says Rob Aherne, managing director of motorcycling at Bauer Media. “With an unprecedented 22 manufacturers, we’ll ensure there’s something for every kind of rider.”
