Yes, first place went straight to the Northern Irish who speak that lovely Emerald Isle brogue.

The accent proved the most popular among both females (19 per cent) and males (13 per cent).

The research was conducted by The Language Gallery and it actually looked at what Brits think of accents as a whole as well as how they perceive them.

15 most-wanted singles in the UK, according to dating app Happn

It found that Britons top three favourite accents are Irish (16 per cent), Welsh (10 per cent) and Geordie (9 per cent). The least favourite were found to be Brummie (20 per cent), Scouse (18 per cent) and Cockney (8 per cent).

In terms of perceptions, Brits thought that people with a Yorkshire and Welsh twang sound the happiest (30 per cent) followed by Scouse (21 per cent).

The Southeast were found to sound the most intelligent (15 per cent) and, unfortunately, Glaswegians were thought to sound the angriest (28 per cent).
