There’s now a dating app just for verified Twitter users

If you’re the type of singleton that enjoys sending long rants to Donald Trump, subtweeting yourself and coming up with hilarious reaction memes, there’s a new dating app feature that’s sure to help you find love this year.

LoveFlutter, the dating app that links up to your Twitter to help you find like-minded tweeters, will soon allow people who have been awarded the hallowed Twitter ‘blue tick’ of authenticity to find other verified users who also have the badge.

It’s basically Tinder for Twitter-famous people.

The app developers say that the verified-only feature will roll out in five cities, including London, once 1,000 ‘blue tick’ Twitter users sign up in each place.

Once they have enough singletons, verified users will be able to toggle between the upper echelons of the social media platform, avoiding the masses of regular Tweeters on their way.

The new feature might sound like a lot of mutual ego-stroking, but founder Daigo Smith says the new service is actually about helping people whittle down the thousands of single people to a smaller pool of like minded individuals - i.e. you’re both just as likely to be glued to your phones over a romantic candlelit dinner.

"We're pretty open about what LoveFlutter is," founder Smith told BuzzFeed News. "It's not a hookup app or an ego-boosting, match-collecting experience. We're a date-focused relationship app, so it won't be creepy/weird, as everyone will be on there to find a date.”

If you’re a minor Twitter celebrity that’s already keen to sign up, you might want to get in early - the premium feature will be free for the first 1,000 people to sign up in each city, but after that you'll need a monthly subscription to access it.
