Having ruled the country for over six decades, the Queen has her royal dining schedule down to a fine art - particularly when it comes to her favourite tipples.

Business Insider has rounded up everything her majesty drinks in a day, finding that she enjoys a routined drinking regimen that starts before midday.

According to Margaret Rhodes, the Queen's cousin, HM's alcohol intake never varies. Despite her busy schedule, she finds time to enjoy a cocktail or two throughout the day, as well as two glasses of wine.

Before lunch, she enjoys a gin and Dubonnet - a sweet wine-based aperitif - with a slice of lemon and a lot of ice. For this, it’s likely she uses Gordon’s Gin, which has a royal warrant.

When lunch finally arrives, you won’t find the Queen slurping on a Pret coffee like the rest of us. She washes it down with a glass of fine wine - presumably white as she tends to opt for a healthy, light meal of chicken and fish (although she does indulge in a piece of chocolate for dessert).

While the Queen regularly tops herself up with English tea, Rhodes has also divulged that in the evening, she is known to have a dry martini as a dinner digestif.

And just before bed, the 91-year-old likes to finish her day with a glass of Champagne, often from brands like Bollinger, Lanson and King.

Apparently though, there’s one drink you won’t find HRH supping on; she’s not a fan of beer. The Queen politely declined a pint of Guinness while touring the factory in Dublin.
