If you thought the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was impressive, wait until you see what a team of talented Snapchat artists have done with it.

YouTube channel Yoda Didn’t Die has recreated the entire two minute teaser using graphic art, drawing a scene-for-scene remake of the trailer, then animating the respective scenes to flow like the original.

Some 18 artists were involved in the project, which was coordinated by Michael Rudolph (aka Yoda Didn't Die), according to the YouTube post.

The collective has handily uploaded the new trailer next to the original so you can see just how closely it has managed to match the latest film in the Star Wars franchise.

And while the colours and lines are more vibrant in the Snapchat trailer, the results are still astoundingly accurate to JJ Abrams' original trailer.

The Snapchat tribute comes after it was revealed that Star Wars had the biggest opening day and Saturday receipts in UK and Ireland box office history.

Abrams' film grossed £9.6m on its opening night, including £2.4m from midnight screenings.
