People are already starting to make spoofs of the John Lewis Man on the Moon Christmas advert

Here are the most notable so far...
Star of the show: Lily, the little girl from the ad

The John Lewis Christmas advert has become a staple of the festive season - and so have the parodies that inevitably appear after its release.

This year's ad tells the story of Lily, a little girl who tries to contact a man who lives on the moon and is forced to spend each Christmas alone.

It was just a few short hours ago that the nation opened their browsers to watch the heartwarming advert for the first time, but true to form, the Internet has responded with an array of intergalactic parody videos in record time.

The reworkings of the tearjerking tale are less than respectful but pretty imaginative.

My Voucher Codes came up trumps with this effort, a ‘discount version’ of the ad which took 7 hours to make and cost only £700.

When you take into account the fact that John Lewis spent £7million on their Christmas campaign, this actually seems like a real achievement.

The Huffington Post got some help from The Clangers for this spoof

A Star Wars fan, we presume, edited in this rather dark and unexpected Death Star tractor beam

And finally, there's this one, which inevitably attempted to make a horror film of the otherwise sweet advert.

Funny, scary or slightly missing the point of the advert? One thing’s for sure, there'll be plenty more Man on the Moon spoof videos hitting our screens before Christmas is over.
