London's best bikestarters

No one knows who invented the wheel, but today’s inventors often crowd-source the funding for their lightbulb moments using Kickstarter. Here are five of the wheely good cycle ideas out there
Take a stand: park your bike with a Clug

Clug

Designed on a 3D printer, Clug is a tiny clip that enables you to store your bike anywhere you like. Affix it to a wall to secure your bike indoors — the tiny compact clip won’t interfere with your feng shui.

Geared

Geared is a card game — players (or pseudo-cyclists) race to build as many bikes as they can and be the first to 100 points. It’s designed for two to four players and you can sabotage other players by pinching choice parts.

Shelfie

Successfully funded on May 10, the Shelfie is a wall-mounted unit on which you can hang your bike flat against the wall to minimise the space it takes up. There’s also space for a helmet.

FreeRider

The FreeRider is a super pannier. It can expand to the size of a watermelon —just in case you’re shuttling one of those around — and clips easily onto your bike frame.

MöBIUS infinity pedal

Successfully funded in April and planning to hit the market in September, the MöBIUS pedal is incredibly lightweight and compact — it weighs just 236g.
