Instagram launches new search function in time for Glastonbury 2015

As we gear up for Glastonbury and Wimbledon, Instagram ups its game in the search stakes

If you've ever logged onto Instagram and thought, I wish I could see exactly what was going on in a particular place - say the latest Chanel fashion show or the racecourse stands at Ascot - this is a happy day for you.

Instagram has just launched a new function, Places Search, which enables you to do just that. The new and improved service allows you to peer right into most locations around the world - for instance, the crowds at the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury, Wimbledon's Murray Mound or the hottest restaurant in town everyone is talking about. Or perhaps you want to scour the earth for your next holiday destination - will it be Mykonos or Ibiza this year?

It is also introducing Top Search, which allows you to search by tags, people and places from a single search box - making Instagram snooping that bit easier.

Looks like experiencing FOMO just got easier, too.
