If you’ve ever browsed a fashion or beauty blogger’s Instagram feed and wondered how they make their pictures look like they’re straight from an editorial, you’re not alone.

These days, a simple tap of the ‘Valencia’ or ‘Mayfair’ filter simply won’t cut it - with fashion bloggers turning to external apps to curate envy-inducing images using the latest photo editing technology.

As you might imagine, those artfully placed arrangements of coffee and paperbacks, freshly wrapped flowers and casual brunch pictures you likely see on a daily basis don't just happen to look that beautiful on first take. It requires a certain amount of patience and skill to keep your feed in competition with the rest of Instagram.

If you're desperate to know how the new brigade of bloggers do it - you’re in luck - as one of them has taken to YouTube to share the secrets of curating a stylish feed.

Marianna Hewitt, of LifeWithMe.com, has filmed a behind-the-scenes look at the process behind editing her Instagram photos.

The blogger, who has 424K followers on the app, shows you a step-by-step tutorial to the apps that she uses to create her pictures - including VSCO Cam, Pic Frame, FaceTune and Faded.

And if you thought a simple filter would do the trick, think again, as there’s more to keeping your feed looking slick than you’d think.
