From the 'Man Bun' to the 'Dalston Two-Tone', an east London artist has captured the haircuts of Hackney

Anyone who's trodden the streets of Hackney should recognise a few of these...

If you want to see a directional haircut or two, the obvious place to go on a barnet safari would be London's hipster capital, Hackney. Roaming the streets of Haggerston, cycling down the Regent's Canal and drinking beers in Victoria Park - this is where you'll find all of the borough's most experimental and recognisable dos: from undercuts and dip-dyes to the infamous man bun or 'hun'.

And now an artist has paid homage to these haircuts in a new book of prints, simply named: Haircuts of Hackney. Illustrator Daniel Frost, a graduate of the Royal College of Art and an east London resident, has drawn 35 colourful paintings of the back of Hackney heads to create a 'visual encyclopedia' of all the coiffures you've grown to love - or possibly hate.

A playful collectable, Frost's book allows you to spot some of the area's prime suspects, including: the 'London Fields' where girls accessorise their tresses with floral headband; the 'Dalston Two-Tone' and the 'Beardway Market'.

So bag yourself a copy and take a trip east for a little game of eye spy...
