In the year that would have marked his 70th birthday, Royal Mail is issuing a set of 10 stamps to honour David Bowie.

This is the first time Royal Mail has dedicated an entire stamp collection to an individual cultural figure - and Bowie seems a fitting choice as one of the most influential musicians of all time.

Six of the stamps will feature Bowie’s most famous album covers – including Aladdin Sane, “Heroes” and Let’s Dance – simultaneously showcasing his changing musical styles and personas.

The four other stamps will carry images of the musician performing live on tours that spanned four decades, from The Ziggy Stardust Tour in 1972 to the A Reality Tour in 2004.

Having inspired generations of artists and fans alike before his untimely death, these special stamps commemorate Bowie as the pioneering icon he was.

Stamps can be pre-ordered today and will be on sale from March 14 here and in 7,000 Post Office branches across the UK.
