If you’re the type of person that lusts over other people’s lavish lifestyles, Instagram can be a dangerous place.

Particularly, if you happen to stumble upon the self-proclaimed Rich Kids of London.

The Instagram account has gained attention online after giving social media users a glimpse into the lives of some of the capital’s wealthiest young people, and their seriously loaded exploits in London’s swankiest postcodes.

From taking trips in private jets and having a bath in champagne, to getting a Rolls Royce as a present for passing your driving test, the account’s 118,000 followers are treated to all manner of gloating snaps.

One image shared via Snapchat shows a flaming bottle of Cristal Louis Roederer Champagne with the caption: "Molotov cocktail to throw on peasants."

Another shows a man peering into the window of a parked Lamborghini alongside the words: "Love it when peasants admire my car."

According to the Daily Mail, the account was set up by an unnamed 24-year-old property broker to share photos of the lifestyles of the capital’s ‘under-30s’ elite, which he has befriended.

Trappings of the super-rich

The so-called ‘rich kids’ share their photos via Instagram and Snapchat, and he selects those he feels are good enough to share.

"I know these wealthy people," he told the Daily Mail. "I have spoken to them and now I hang out with all super rich kids at most exclusive clubs in Mayfair, Knightsbridge and Chelsea."

He claims he set up the page to motivate people to do well, adding: "I get messages every day from people saying my page has made them work very hard to achieve their dream and want to aim for higher."

He added that references to 'plebs' and 'peasants' are meant to be tongue-in-cheek.

Aspirational or annoying? Either way, you won’t want to be following this account in the painful days leading up to pay day.
