Calling all entrepreneurs: win a rent-free pop up space in central London this summer

Budding entrepreneurs have the opportunity to open a rent-free central London pop-up shop this summer.

The Evening Standard has teamed up with Appear Here to launch Space for Ideas, a search to find the most-promising young retailers in the capital.

Supported by mobile-phone network EE, the three best retailing ideas will win their own shop for two weeks. The winning entrepreneurs also receive a £3,000 budget to fit out the store, up to £20,000 of advertising space in the Evening Standard to promote the concept and mentoring from experts who know how to turn an idea into reality.

Judges include Martin Morales, the former head of Disney Music who set up Peruvian restaurant Ceviche, television presenter and Evening Standard fashion columnist Dawn O’Porter, who launched her own vintage-clothing line using a pop-up shop in Covent Garden, and Julie Deane, the founder of the Cambridge Satchel Company.

Entrepreneurs have until June 29 to submit their entries here. The winners will be announced in mid-July, in time for them to open their doors later in the summer. Then they can test their idea out on the ultimate judges of what sells — London shoppers.
