Adorable dogs arrive at Crufts to secure Best in Show crown - day 1 of Crufts 2017 in pictures
Awards season may be over in Hollywood, but in Birmingham, the Oscars of the canine world is just getting started.
Yes, Crufts dog show is back. Now in its 126th year, the biggest occasion in the doggy calendar will see hundreds of contenders from across the globe trot out in front of the judges, in the hopes of securing that all-important Best In Show title.
The winner will be crowned at Birmingham's NEC on Sunday night, taking the crown from last year's winner Devon the West Highland terrier.
From fluffy Chow Chows and regal Schnauzer's to bounding Beagle puppies, day one has seen some particularly strong contenders descend upon the Midlands - many with suitcases of fabulous accessories in tow.
And while all dogs are good dogs, sadly there has to be winners and losers.
