Trendy: Topman tweed jacket
Dan Rookwood23 October 2014

How can I wear a tweed jacket without looking like a grandad?

To (almost) quote Top Gun, I feel the need, the need for tweed. And there are some fantastic options right now, from Topman (£100) to J Crew to Hackett to Valentino, all in a more contemporary cut than traditional outfitters. Rather than accessorising with a V-neck, brogues and Barbour, the trick is to break up the tweed with something more youthful. Try a plaid, chambray or denim shirt; a T-shirt; a backpack; a pair of tennis shoes. You’ll look less of a goose, more of a maverick.
