Neil Barret tracksuit bottoms

Are jogging bottoms really in fashion right now?

There’s a difference between baggy tracksuit bottoms from Hollister and slim-fit, cuffed sweatpants. The former are worn with snap-back caps and hoodies by teenagers loitering outside newsagents. The latter are worn with denim jackets and beanies by David Beckham and Jude Law. This is the next evolutionary stage from the rolled chino. You want a tapered silhouette, cuffed at the ankle, in smart grey, navy or black from brands such as Acne, Neil Barrett or one of the labels at Urban Outfitters. You might scoff now but you’ll be wearing them within six months.

Shinola watches

Shinola

This US brand has an eclectic range of beautifully designed masculine things: watches, bikes, leather accessories, notebooks — oh, and shoe polish, for which the brand was originally known. Its first UK store will open soon on Newburgh Street in Soho. In the meantime, check out its watches on mrporter.com.
