What does one wear to a festival these days?

Under thirtyish? Hit up Topman, Urban Outfitters, Zara and H&M. Over thirtyish? You’ll want something a little less trend-obsessed from COS, Uniqlo or Reiss. To be prescriptive: a short-sleeved shirt in summery print (eg, Hentsch Man, above) with sleeves rolled once, worn unbuttoned over a plain T-shirt; chino or denim shorts turned up to an inch above the knee; a straw trilby; round-shaped sunnies that aren’t so expensive it’ll ruin your weekend if you lose them (try Le Specs); slip-on sneakers or, if it’s muddy, dark brown chukka boots; and a K-Way pac-a-mac in the brightest possible colour so you can be spotted.

Pitti Uomo

Last week was Pitti Uomo, a biannual tradeshow in Florence that has become the epicentre of peacockery for men’s street style. It’s completely OTT but fun. For style inspiration, follow the likes of @guerreisms, @tommyton and @leeoliveirass on Instagram.
