'Just say no and engage the central locking system in your limo'
Hettie Harvey10 April 2012

Dear Hettie
I've got loads of famous friends. Kate Moss is basically my best mate; Naomi and me, we're like that. It doesn't faze me because I'm famous, too, so we can all just be totally ourselves. My new BF is Rihanna, which is, like, great. But she likes to do some weird stuff, like taking the Tube, which freaks me out because I'm just not into that sort of thing. How can I tell her no?
Yours, Chloe Green*

It's always tricky to navigate the shallow waters of a new friendship; even more so when the friend in question is a global megastar and you're, um, getting there. But you'll know - because you already have so many famous friends - that famous people tend to fall into three categories: those who just want to be loved; those who just want their own way; and those who really just don't care so long as you stop whining about it. Looking at her, I'd say that Rihanna probably falls into the last category. So if you don't want to explore the dark side with her, just say a firm no and engage the central locking system in your limo. She'll probably respect you all the more for it - nobody likes a yes-man, after all (except maybe Mariah Carey, but that's a whole other problem) - and be grateful for a lift. As for what else she might ask of you, fear not.
I have it on good authority from a friend who was once dragged on stage by the Bajan beauty for a lap dance, that what Rihanna wants, Rihanna tends to get. Telling her no doesn't really come into it.
