DJ duo Eli & Fur, both 22 and addicted to electropop, met at 16 while studying music technology and art at Hurtwood House, a school for performance and creative arts in Dorking, which counts Emily Blunt and Leah Wood among its alumni.

Now housemates in Fulham, Eliza Noble and Jennifur Skillman have tuned their creativity to London's party scene. 'We always go out together and we often wear matching Henry Holland suspender tights.

'Our friends see us as one,' says Eli, who works for Xenomania, a song-writing company that has produced music for Cher and Kylie Minogue.

Their party habits, which see them bopping between Shoreditch House and the Notting Hill Arts Club, inspired them to hit the decks.

'We always notice the details when other people are DJing – it's become an obsession,'says Fur, who, by day, is an accessories designer at Aspinal of London.

After buying their first decks a year ago, the pair have picked up tips from DJ friend Otto Brockway, an ex of Princess Eugenie, who now plays regular sets at Kensington Roof Gardens.

Eli & Fur, whose music tastes range from Katy Perry to Daft Punk, are now launching themselves as pop DJs and specialise in house parties.

What's the best party you've DJed at?
Fur: Over the summer we played to a crazy crowd at the party of a Dutch artist called Astrid Meyer in the hills near San Rafael in Ibiza. We were up on the balcony and everyone was dancing around the pool below.

How do you stay ahead of the pack?
Eli: The website The Hype Machine is really great. It collates the most popular tunes from the blogosphere and always features the coolest tracks, with remixes from bands such as Hot Chip and Swedish House Mafia.

What gets partygoers in a festive mood?
Eli: Mashing up classics for a Christmas
remix. I have 250 Christmas songs on my iPod but I'd pick Slade any day.

Have you blacklisted any tracks?
Fur: Chris de Burgh's 'Lady in Red' and The Proclaimers' '(I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles'. They make me feel a little bit ill.

What's your post-party detox routine?
Eli: Sleep, McDonald's and loads of water. Food always tastes much better when you're hungover so it's a good opportunity to indulge.

What's the dream?
Eli: Playing at Bonnaroo in Nashville would
be amazing.
Fur: We also want to jump into the pool at Shoreditch House with our clothes on.
