It’s International Dog Day. Or, really yet another excuse to celebrate our beloved canine friends.

If you’re looking for the perfect way to pamper your puppy, and enjoy a luxurious retreat yourself, look no further. We’ve rounded up some of the UK’s best dog-friendly hotels where your fur baby will be pampered as much - if not more - than you.

Egerton House Hotel, London

Egerton House Hotel

Egerton House regularly tops lists of best dog-friendly hotels and it’s not hard to see why. On arrival, dog guests are given a bottle of pet-friendly beer or champagne and a toy to keep them entertained during their stay. Rooms come with a luxury dog bed, embroidered pet towel and a special doggy menu with options such as shepherd’s pie and chicken risotto. Come bed time, you and your pooch will receive a special turndown service with a treat left on the pillow.

Bespoke grooming services, walking and doggy day care can all be arranged.

Egerton House Hotel also offers a Doggy Afternoon Tea. Pets dine on chicken and beef meatloaf, homemade dog biscuits and ice cream presented on a tiered cake stand, just like the regular version. For cocktail hour, treat your best friend to a Dogtini- chicken consomme with chicken skewers rather than olives and served in a giant dog-friendly martini glass.
