Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2017 in Shanghai turning into a 'media crisis'

Both bloggers and a small number of models are struggling to get visas while press releases are reportedly each needing approval by government officials

With the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show just four days away, it seems there are a few more hurdles to get over than in previous years.

While four models have reportedly had to pull out over visa issues, it seems the troubles extend from those walking this year's runway to those watching it.

Page Six reports that multiple fashion bloggers due to cover the annual extravaganza have also had to cancel their trip "because the Chinese government won't give them visas".

They also claim that TV producers are struggling to gain permission to film outside the show's main arena, while Victoria's Secret staff are apparently being forced to wait for government approval before they can send out each press release.

China's ban on Facebook, YouTube, Whatsapp and Google could also hinder the speed and wealth of show coverage, but it is presumed that the brand will have a contingency plan having perfectly pulled off last year's show in Paris in the wake of both the capital's terror attack and Kim Kardashian's high-profile robbery.

Despite the reported controversies, the show will go ahead on Monday night and will no doubt be as spectacular as ever - perhaps even more so, with an exciting Balmain collaboration being debuted.

Fan favourite Karlie Kloss has been confirmed to return to the lingerie giant's runway having left the brand two years ago, while big names Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel and Bella Hadid will also take part in the show.

Among the new faces this year are Grace Bol, Frida Aasen, Victoria Lee, Xin Xie, Alexina Graha, and Estelle Chen.
