A model so iconic in lingerie, you'd be forgiven for forgetting that Victoria's Secret legend Alessandra Ambrosio has also modelled clothing collections for countless high fashion brands including Prada, Chanel and Givenchy.

Catching up with the supermodel backstage ahead of this year's Victoria's Secret fashion show in Paris, we asked Ambrosio what has been her favourite look to wear herself over the last year.

Initially struggling to pick just one, she eventually plumped for her make-up artist's suggestion of "an over-sized coat with nothing underneath."

"Yes! I love it" Ambrosio laughed. "No, actually, you have to wear Victoria's Secret underneath it" she added, remembering where she was.

"No, but I do really love lingerie showing, and I feel like lately you see a lot of bras that became outerwear."

"Victoria’s Secret has a bunch of them and they’re gorgeous. You can wear them with high-waisted shorts, or pants or skirts. I think it’s a very sexy look."

Speaking about the fashion show - which is always one of the most extravagant showcases of the year - Ambrosio, who has been an Angel for over 10 years, admitted that she still gets anxious before walking out.

"I'm little bit nervous, because I have really high heels. Like, extra high. I’m not used to them, and they have really big platforms. But it’s super exciting to have them and do it."

Something that may relax her nerves for next year, however, would perhaps be a change of location. When quizzed on where the brand should take its 2017 showcase, the Brazillian supermodel didn't hesitate.

"Brazil, of course. Not even a doubt. Rio de Janeiro."
