A London schoolgirl has been named by Vogue as the face of the next decade.

Stephanie Rad, 16, from Barnes, who was spotted by agents shopping in Chiswick High Road two years ago, is on the style magazine's roll call of Britain's greatest young talent.

The 5ft 11in GCSE student at Harrodian school started modelling only recently but has already starred in campaigns for Prada and Dolce & Gabanna.

Sarah Doukas, founder of her agency Storm, described her as "an enduring but modern beauty with an incredible vibrant and engaging personality".

This month's Vogue, published on Thursday, features striking photographs of the artists, singers, writers and entrepreneurs expected to dictate future thinking and trends.

The majority are from the London area. Sharmadean Reid, 25, founder of the capital's first "hipster" nail bar in Dalston, is the businesswoman predicted to make waves.

WAH Nails, which opened in Kingsland Road last year, has already received mentions in the US press as a stop-off for style-conscious tourist keen to try the latest designs.

The most popular finishes are Leopard, Candy and Chanel's double-C logo.

Eminem-inspired poet Jack Stannard, 17, from Essex, is picked out as another name to watch. He has been writing since the age of 14.

His performance at this summer's Latitude festival in Suffolk, where he spoke on offbeat subjects such as the connection between fast food and platonic relationships, received plaudits from veteran poets.

Other Londoners named as future stars by Vogue include historian Claudia Renton, 27, whose biography of the Wyndham sisters will be published in the spring, and heiress Fawn James, 23.

The anthropology graduate, who co-inherited £75 million from her porn king grandfather Paul Raymond, owns and manages 60 acres of property in Soho.

The writer behind Enron, the play about the corporate collapse which won the Evening Standard Best Director Award this year, is also on the list.

Lucy Prebble, 28, recently saw the play transfer to the West End from the Royal Court, and it will go to Broadway this month.

Rapper Speech Debelle, 28, from south London, who won a Mercury award with her debut album Speech Therapy this year, is mentioned as the musician set to turn heads.
