When it comes to choosing a wedding dress there are various faux pas we all want to avoid.

A point, probably, at the top of your list is that your dream wedding gown is not see-through in any way, shape or form. Right?

Well, Danish actress and model Emma Leth completely ignored the unspoken rule which states that flashing your knickers is a wedding day no-no when she recently walked down the aisle.

The 27-year-old wed her husband, Tal, wearing an intricate sheer lace vintage-looking dress. The elegant number being, well, completely see-through revealing the bride's statement pastel pink underwear.

Talk about breaking bridal barriers.

And it wasn't just her dress that got people talking; she also ditched a veil in favour of an extremely oversized straw hat.

The XXL headgear by Jacquemus is in fact an on-trend item this season. The French fashion label, who are a favourite with the Kardashians, sparked the supersized trend with its spring/summer 2017 collection.

Continuing the sartorial statement, the bride-to-be had opted for one of the fashion house's larger options, with one Instagram photo showing that the hat is the width of four people.

Although the ensemble is controversial, it's receiving a flurry of love on social media, many women stating: "If I get married that’s what I want to wear" and "This bridal look is blowing my mind".

So, we dare say, we could have a new bridal trend on our hands.
