Fashion loves a royal.

Meghan wears a jumper and it will sell out within hours, while Kate Middleton’s wardrobe choices can be credited with putting such high street brands as LK Bennett on the map.

Long before the current generation of royal influencers there was Diana, whose impact on fashion has been unparalleled.

But what about her sister-in-law, Sarah, Duchess of York?

A poster girl for 80s Sloane Ranger fashion, from padded Alice bands and skirt suits, to polka dots, big hair and extreme sleeves, the Duchess of York nailed the era’s style, putting sailor collars and puffball sleeves high on the sartorial agenda.

In the post-divorce years, her style became simpler and understated: she embraced flattering black dresses, fun accessories and great tailoring.

At Harry and Meghan’s wedding earlier this year, she wore a navy skirt suit with contrasting pink collar, with just one glove (carrying the other) - a look she’s rocked before, yet still caught the press’ attention.

So what will she wear to see her youngest daughter Princess Eugenie marry Jack Brooksbank tomorrow?

Not long until we find out...
