Paint play: Lulu Guinness clutches get a makeover from artist Joseph Steele

Queen of accessories Lulu Guinness has collaborated with young British artist Joseph Steele to create a range of one-of-a-kind bags
10 July 2013

Quirky accessories designer Lulu Guinness has joined forces with Beautiful Crime and young British artist Joseph Steele to design a unique range of clutch bags.

Steele, dubbed the heir to Damien Hirst's arty crown, has used his signature paint-explosion technique (see Beautiful Crime video below) to create a splattered effect for the 180 limited edition bags-cum-works-of-art. Featuring Guinness's trademark lips, the Hug and Hold bags are designed to fit all your modern necessities, including iPads and phones.

On Thursday July 11 at New Oxford Street’s Old Sorting Office, Steele will be aiming his paint-explosion technique at three clutch bags, as well as one of Guinness’s own personal bags, which will be auctioned on eBay for charity.

The others will be hitting the shelves this Friday.
