London Fashion Week: the best of the f'rows, the parties and the shows - in pictures, including Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss

The style set have moved onto Milan but London is still reeling from a brilliant Fashion Week where Anna Wintour got stuck in Newcastle, Cara Delevingne launched a bag collection for Mulberry and Kate Moss was on the best front rows

London fashion week is done and dusted. But what a week it turned out to be. Anna Wintour got stuck in Newcastle. Cara Delevingne turned into a handbag designer. And Christopher Kane made bin bag dresses into the best thing since sliced bread.

With over 75 shows in 5 days, there was a lot to take in. From magic (Dymano levitated at Hunter’s LFW debut) to Supermarket Sweep-chic (Anya Hindmarch sent out models on conveyor belts with shopping trollies and cereal box-inspired accessories) and Star Wars style muses (Preen had Darth Vader prints on blouses and Storm Troopers backstage), this London fashion week came with its fair share of surprises.

And then there was Cara.

Continuing on her one-woman mission to takeover the fashion industry, Miss Delevingne not only launched her own line of bags for Mulberry (first by twirling in a woodland scene for paps, and then by hosting an intimate dinner at Claridge's), she also made social media history by Instagramming the first ever live video from the catwalk at the Giles show.

But her POV footage wasn’t the only way the public could get a slice of the action. Topshop’s show space, which hosts catwalks for the likes of Fashion East and Simone Rocha, found home at the Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall this season, complete with a viewing gallery for the public to watch from above.

At Topshop’s own high-end Unique offering, onlookers were treated to a view of Kate Moss who put in a rare appearance with her little sister Lottie, as well as Uncle Phil(lip Green) and Kendal Jenner, who rubbed shoulders with HRH Anna Wintour (once she managed to get to London after her flight was diverted to Newcastle - the gory details of which are still unknown, apart from the rumour that the only food available upon arrival was Greggs’ pasties).

The front rows at Burberry and Tom Ford were just as starry (albeit, without the Greggs). Bradley Cooper, James Corden and Naomi Harris put in an appearance, alongside Harry Styles, who showcased even more voluminous hair than usual. While the after-party list – which included events by Storm Models, Browns and Matthew Williamson – helped keep the night owls happy and the hangovers in good supply.

But alongside all the sore heads, front-row celeb spotting – oh, and the clothes themselves – there came the news that the British fashion industry is now worth a record £26 billion to the UK economy. That certainly has to be the highlight of the week. But just in case, here’s the best of the rest.
