A polished collection set to delight contemporary high-society topped the bill at London Fashion Week today as Emilia Wickstead took to the catwalk.

Cementing the industry perception that hers is a brand that considers delivering to the demands of modern ladies who lunch as its priority, Wickstead showcased a-line dresses, woven wool jackets and Forties sheath skirts.

Wickstead described the silhouettes on offer as "matter of fact" - and they were - but this show had a sense playfulness at its core too.

The inclusion of buffed black patent, called upon to create oversized cape coats and cute bombers, served to flavour this muted, elegant affair with a twist of spice while a colour palette of eau de nil, coral and pink ensured there was lots to delight the Duchess of Cambridge- a loyal Wickstead customer.

Wickstead, who is currently receiving business mentorship and support from Anya Hindmarch CEO and BFC business pillar James McArthur, is the brains behind one of the capital's most promising brands.

Acutely aware of her label's USP, Wickstead does functional elegance brilliantly. It's little wonder Samantha Cameron is a fan.
