It is one of the UK's most popular publications, so when Glamour magazine put on an event the guest list is always eagerly anticipated.

This year, the annual Glamour Awards welcomed the likes of Kourtney Kardashian, Amanda Holden, Fearne Cotten, Caroline Flack, Myleene Klass and Little Mix. And despite today's turbulent weather, the dress code seemed to provide the night with a surprisingly sunny outlook.

One star who stood out in the style stakes was Laura Whitmore, whose dramatic red gown found the perfect balance with a modest high neck and revealing sheer sides.

Allowing the dress to take centre stage, Whitmore wore her blonde hair loosely behind her shoulders and kept her makeup minimal other than a bold red lip.

British model Neelam Gill seemingly also got the colourful memo, as she stepped out in a striking yellow floor-length gown with elegant straps and a simple, flowing shape.

Wearing her dark locks down with a loose wave, Gill's makeup was subtle other than a smoky, gold eye.

Perhaps the brightest gown of the night, however, went to Lilah Parsons, whose orange Stella McCartney dress was relaxed and flattering with a high neckline and double-dropped hem.
