Jourdan Dunn and Leomie Anderson hit out at 'cruel' ordeal of Paris Fashion Week models

The models support casting agent James Scully who called out Balenciaga's casting agency

Jourdan Dunn and Leomie Anderson have waded into the row over the alleged "sadistic" treatment of models by top brands at Paris Fashion Week.

The Londoners backed casting agent James Scully after he claimed 150 models at a casting for Balenciaga were left standing in a dark staircase for hours.

He said: "Not only was this sadistic and cruel it was dangerous and left more than a few of the girls I spoke with traumatised."

Anderson, 24, of Clapham, wrote online: "Thank you James Scully for being a voice to models and letting people know how we have been treated. Models get treated like s**t at times during fashion week and we can’t say anything as it can damage our careers, it’s crazy."

Dunn, Helena Christensen, Carolyn Murphy, Elsa Hosk, Joan Smalls, and Edie Campbell have also supported Scully.

In his post on Instagram on Monday, he alleged a pair of casting directors he described as "serial abusers" had "held a casting in which they made over 150 girls wait in a stairwell, told them they would have to stay over three hours to be seen ... in their usual fashion they shut the door, went to lunch and turned off the lights, leaving every girl with only the lights of their phones."

He added: "Too many of these models are under the age of 18 and clearly not equipped to be here."

Balenciaga said it had apologised and made "radical changes to the casting process, including discontinuing the relationship with the current casting agency."
