Hayley Hasselhoff today led a line-up of models who posed outside the London Fashion Week hub in their underwear to highlight the importance of celebrating women of all sizes.

The photoshoot was set up to help more women feel confident in their own shape, and encourage designers to use larger models on the runways during Fashion Week.

Hasselhoff, 25, a size 18, was joined by Callie Thorpe (size 26) and Sonny Turner (size 16) for the stunt, organised by plus-sized retailer Simply Be.

With a British woman’s average dress size now 16, Simply Be commissioned research that found 89 per cent did not feel their size was represented in modelling or in advertising. Almost half said high street retailers did not offer enough fashion choices for larger women.

Angela Spindler, chief executive N Brown Group plc, which owns Simply Be, said: “We want the fashion industry to change the way it represents body shapes. This isn’t about ‘skinny shaming’ we, think that shape should be celebrated irrespective of size and it’s time that the industry became more diverse - after all fashion is for everyone.”

Hayley Hasselhoff, daughter of Baywatch star David and a campaigner for the Body Positive movement, added: “I think it’s really important that we continue to campaign for body positivity and diversity in the industry.

“We want to give women everywhere the confidence to be who they are. This is only achieved by showing a wide variety of models irrespective of size. By tearing up the ‘one size’ fits fashion rule book we hope to encourage any woman, whatever her size, to feel fabulous in their skin.”
