Hats off to Dita Von Teese

The burlesque star turned up to tea gift-wrapped for the occasion.

Dita Von Teese took this season’s infatuation with “it” hats to a whole new level last night.

Arriving at Perez Hilton’s Mad Hatter’s Tea Party wearing a massive red bow on her noggin, the brunette beauty bore more resemblance to a perfectly wrapped birthday present than she did a burlesque temptress. Hats in boater, trilby and giant oversized bow forms are enjoying something of a moment this spring. Championed by Karl Lagerfeld who kicked off this headwear revival at last summer’s couture shows, it is it seems almost impossible to identify a collection in which a titfer of some variety doesn’t play a starring role. Although - unsurprisingly - they’re not all as shy and, er retiring as DVT’s. Would you wear hers in Walthamstow?
