Gucci is no stranger to referencing wildlife in its designs.

For several seasons, Alessandro Michele has adorned garments with his signature animal prints including snakes, tigers and several other jungle predators.

However, the luxury Italian label has now switched from the dangerous to the downright adorable as its latest collection features everyone's favourite cuddly companion: the dog.

To celebrate Chinese New Year, which begins on February 16, the brand has released a 'Year of the Dog' collection that is filled with pup-inspired garments.

In fact, the two dogs which feature on everything from stylish satin bomber jackets to sneakers and skirts are the beloved pets of Mr Michele himself.

The designer's Boston terriers, Bosco and Orso, take centre stage in the collection, which totals 63 items.

Furthermore, dog lovers will find it hard to tear themselves away from the campaign imagery shot by Petra Collins, which features numerous popular household breeds, including the poodle.
