Get your coat… and donate it to Wrap Up London

13 November 2012

That every Londoner deserves to be warm this winter is a cold, hard fact. Of course, the reality is different. Fourteen per cent of the capital’s young people had to survive last winter without a warm coat, while a fifth of all London households are expected to endure fuel poverty.

Hands On London has come up with a simple plan to rectify this. Look in your wardrobe and select a coat that no longer works for you. Then, preferably before Friday, take it to one of Wrap Up London’s donation stations in Clapham, Notting Hill and King’s Cross. The lovely people at Wrap Up London will then decide where your coat is most needed and distribute it accordingly.

The organisation, which hopes to rehome 10,000 coats to London’s most vulnerable, is working with 80 homeless shelters and charities to keep the capital cosy this winter. Donate yours tomorrow. (handsonlondon.org.uk/en/wrap-up-london-2012)
