David Bailey unveils faces of the future

English fashion and portrait photographer, David Bailey, has been asked by GQ to find the capital's most exciting fashion figures. Here is a sneak preview of some of his choices.

He was at the forefront of the Swinging Sixties “Youthquake”, capturing images of some of the era’s biggest stars. Now, 50 years on, David Bailey is bringing a new cast of Londoners into the spotlight.

GQ magazine has asked Bailey to choose some of the capital’s most exciting fashion figures and photograph them for “The London Issue”.

The issue: David Bailey's Autumn/Winter issue of GQ Style goes on sale this Thursday

Bailey and Jean Shrimpton’s 1962 “Young Idea Goes West” photoshoot for US Vogue heralded the start of that era’s British Invasion. Over the rest of the decade he shot stars such as The Beatles and Mick Jagger.

Among his leaders of this decade’s “Youthquake” are Cora Corré, 17, daughter of Agent Provocateur founders Rees and Joe Corré; club night founder Glyn Famous; stylist James Jeanette and Charlie Casely-Hayford, who founded menswear brand Casely-Hayford at the age of 22 with his father, designer Joe Casely-Hayford.
